From 11 to 14 August 2026, the Secretariat of the East African Community (EAC) convened a regional technical meeting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to validate the revised draft of the EAC TVET Qualifications Framework (EACTQF). The meeting brought together experts from EAC Partner States, representatives of national TVET authorities and qualifications bodies, the EAC Secretariat, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) initiative.
The African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) community will convene in Nairobi, Kenya, from 28 to 30 July 2026 for the 7th ACQF Continental Forum, under the theme “Building Future-Ready Qualifications Systems for Africa”. The Forum will bring together institutions responsible for National Qualifications Frameworks across Africa, as well as international cooperation partners, to exchange experiences, strengthen collaboration, and discuss priorities for the continued implementation of the ACQF.
The first meeting of the Southern African Development Community Qualifications Framework (SADCQF) Technical Committee on Certification and Accreditation (TCCA) took place from 17 to 19 June 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The meeting was organised by the SADC Secretariat and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), with support from the ACQF-II project implemented by the European Training Foundation (ETF).

The All-Africa Students Union (AASU), under the ACQF-II Pilot Project on Greening Skills and Qualifications in Africa – Users’ Engagement, is organising the Greening Skills and Qualification Dialogues. Following the success of session 1 which focused on an expert panel on greening skills and qualifications, Session 2 takes place on 20th April 2026 from 11:00 to 12:30 GMT.
The African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Phase II supports African countries and regional economic communities in strengthening qualifications systems as a foundation for skills transparency, mobility, and lifelong learning.
