The 12th Peer Learning Webinar of the ACQF Capacity Development Programme completed the cycle 2020-2021. In 2022 the programme will be continued with new themes and renewed attention to new developments taking place in the landscape of qualifications frameworks and systems in Africa. All learning and thematic materials of the twelve webinars are accessible for your easy reference in the Webinars page.

The twelve webinars held between July 2020 and October 2021 contributed to create a rich knowledge and learning basis about the experiences of 15 African countries: how they develop and organise their qualifications frameworks, their quality assurance systems, processes of recognition of qualifications, and how they foster and steer new developments of recognition of prior learning / validation and certification of skills acquired in non-formal and informal contexts. These countries are: Angola, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South African, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Besides the countries' experiences, we learned about three regional frameworks and initiatives: SADC Qualifications Framework, East Africa Qualifications Framework for Higher Education and CAMES.

Experiences from other continents were also shared and discussed at the ACQF Peer Learning Programme: Bahrein, France, Ireland, Portugal, Slovenia and three major regional qualifications frameworks (Arab Qualifications Framework, ASEAN QRF, and EQF).

Thematic presentations and discussion looked into essential themes such as: learning outcomes concepts, contextualisation and application; level descriptors and contextualisation in ACQF development; lessons from international experiences of regional qualifications frameworks; micro-credentials contributing to lifelong learning - preliminary findings from Cedefop research in Europe.

ACQF Peer Learning Webinars turned out to be a new learning modality. The construction of this experience was possible thanks to the dedication and commitment of all brilliant speakers and contributors, who generously shared their time, knowledge and country cases with their peers in the community of ACQF stakeholders. The Peer Learning Webinars contributed also to networking, mutual understanding and trust building between participants - stakeholders from qualifications agencies, quality assurance and education institutions, experts and social partners. Learning is the biggest privilege of Humanity - let us continue sharing.
